Konceptbilen är fyrhjulsdriven och framhjulen drivs av samma elmotor som den som sitter monterad i Nissan Leaf medan vart och ett av bakhjulen har en egen inbyggd elmotor. En bränslecell med vätgas genererar elektricitet till elmotorerna.
Trots drivsystemet är Nissan Terra SUV Concept med sina bakvända ”självmordsdörrar” och sin speciella interiör dock främst en designstudie och inget som ska visa kommande teknik.
Passagerarsätena kan fällas ned och då ingen drivaxel löper under bilen bildas då ett helt plant lastutrymme. Instrumenteringen består för övrigt av en portabel surfplatta som förutom att också fungera som en vanlig dator dessutom är bilens nyckel, som man tar med sig då man lämnar bilen.
