Volvo V40 ersätter tredörrarsbilen C30, den större kombimodellen V50 och sedanen S40. Det uppger Volvo till Vi Bilägare. När V40 introduceras i månadsskiftet augusti/september försvinner trion från Volvos modellprogram.
– Får man inte plats med hunden där bak får man byta till en mindre hund, säger Vi Bilägares Tommy Wahlström, på plats i Italien för första provkörningen av V40.
Sedan tidigare har det stått klart att V50 och S40 så småningom skulle försvinna. Modellerna har sålts med beteckningen Classic, ett tecken på att pensionen är nära.
Volvochefen Stefan Jacoby har tidigare intygat att C30 ska leva vidare, sida vid sida med nya femdörrarsmodellen V40. Så blir inte fallet.

hultarn, Nya V40 är ju i princip samma pris som C30. Så ser ingen skillnad där. Förutom de där 11 centimeterna och att den inte är någon coupe. Volvo har inga billiga bilar i småbilsklassen och hade inte med C30:n så. De tävlar hur som helst fortfarande mot bilarna i samma klass där med Toyota Avensis, Ford Mondeo, Volkswagen Passat, Renault Megane och där omkring, inte mot Ford Fiesta och Skoda Fabia eller Dacia.
