Motorhuven och bakluckans skarvar är bra tätade och dessutom behandlade inuti. Dörrarna har ovanligt bra skarvskydd, genom limning och bra dräneringar. Även dörrarna är behandlade.
Framskärmarna har bra och luftig montering. Bakskärmskonstruktionen är bra utan smutssamlande veck. i30 har innerskärmar av hårdplast både fram och bak samt behandling av plåtytorna. Bakdörrarna lappar över bakskärmen vilket minskar blästringsrisken.
Undertill finns plastsköldar, ett slitskydd och ganska omsorgsfull tätning på utsatta ställen. Balkar och hålrum är behandlade, dock med grov spridning av vaxet. Bränsletanken är av plåt men väl behandlad.
