Trimningsfirman Polestar har förvandlat Volvo S60 till en riktig värsting för gatan kapabel att skjuta iväg från 0 – 100 km/tim på 3,9 sekunder.
Mycket har gjorts för att optimera bilens prestanda. Den raka sexcylindriga motorn har trimmats med en större turbo och en hel del andra modifieringar vilket lett till 508 hk och ett vridmoment på 575 Nm. Bilen är utrustad med en förstärkt 6-växlad manuell låda.
För bättre väghållning har chassit sänkts, breddats och förstärkts. S60 Polestar är utrustad med modifierad Haldex-fyrhjulsdrift, Öhlins-stötdämpare och kraftigare bromsar från Polestar-Brembo. Bilens vikt uppgår till 1640 kilo och toppfarten anges till mer än 300 km/tim.
Polestar hävdar att bilen ska fungera till inspirerad bankörning såväl som för långfärder. Konceptet visades på Göteborg City Arena och ska vara byggt för en specifik kund, men beroende på respons från marknaden kan Volvo S60 Polestar serieproduceras i en mindre upplaga.
