Med en kvartett elmotorer, dubbla gasturbiner och 780 hästkrafter stal konceptbilen Jaguar C-X75 föreställningen på Parissalongen i höstas. Nu meddelar Jaguar att elsportbilen blir verklighet.
Gasturbinerna har dock slopats och endast två elmotorer finns kvar under skalet. Istället tillkommer en turboladdad bensinfyra på 1,6 liter som driver bakaxeln, samtidigt som elmotorerna sköter framhjulen.
Jaguar uppger inga effektsiffror men hävdar att 0-100 km/tim avverkas på mindre än tre sekunder. C-X75 ska också klara en toppfart över 320 km/tim. Trots svindlande kraftresurser stannar CO2-utsläppet under 99 gram/km och därtill kan bilen köras 50 kilometer endast på elektricitet.
Under utvecklingsarbetet kommer brittiska Formel 1-stallet Williams att assistera, särskilt när det gäller aerodynamik och lättviktskonstruktioner med kolfiberförstärkt plast.
När bilen ska lanseras är ännu oklart, även om förhandsspekulationerna säger 2013. Endast 250 exemplar ska tillverkas och priserna börjar vid 7,5 miljoner kronor.
